my is a bit temperamental.

It always seem to go back up perfectly well on its own but sometimes has issues going down.

When it goes down as the canvas and frame reaches the end of its folding process into the well it normally makes a 'clunk' if it does this I know all is well and the rest of the roof down process will work fine.

sometimes it doesn't make this 'clunk' and that's when I know I have to get out and push the roof the last inch or so downwards myself so the two flaps will close ant the cover will close.

Its almost as though theres something stopping the canvas folding properly.

anyone any ideas...
Have you looked at the elastic straps that fold the side edge of the roof in as the roof folds down. It could be that these have perished and the canvas is not being folded properly and hence not compact enough to fully close down. It is a common problem given the age of the cars and has been well documented on the forum. Not that I have had to resort to the bodge, but I think the cure is bungee straps to replace the original elastic. Just a thought.

It could also be the micro switches playing up, but don't know where they are, to check.

I'll have a look at the elastic. Thanks

As everything seems to work otherwise I'm thinking the micro switches are OK.
