Default Word of warning dodgey ebayer

Hi guys I originally won this car https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F142827412696

The seller assured me over the phone it was a great car, ran well etc all the usual BS!

Header tank is full of mayo, dipstick broken, PAS tank leaking, runs really rough and cuts out on idle, bumper sprayed badly, seats very scruffy, loads of scratches particularly the n/s. Please guys dont waste your time and money on this wreck with very selective pictures!

Post it up on more forums like Piston Heads, Detailing World etc.

Glad you didn't get lumbered with it and hope the low lives who do this sort of dishonest trading die from a horrible disease.

The trouble with condition of older cars is that is it fairly subjective as to what a good car it

When I won my pickup on ebay, I turned up with the cash, found it had a blown HG, so he cancelled the auction (stating it was not as described) and we negotiated a new (lower) deal based on what needed doing, so we were both happy.

Could just be an annoyed buyer.

Should have been pretty easy to get a couple pictures of the things you described.

That's true but then then this seller is allegedly selling a car knowing the headgasket has failed but there is no mention of that.

Caveat emptor springs to mind. Doubly important when buying unseen.

Agree 100% Classic. One person's perfect is someone else's dog. And it isn't always dishonesty. Can be ignorance, incompetence and having zero car knowledge.

Personally I'm extremely leery of buying a car on eBay. And I wouldn't bid to the end without seeing it.
