Default Removing handbrake cable from rear caliper?

How the hell do you remove the handbrake cable from the rear caliper? I've been levering and pulling for the last 20 minutes and can't see how to get it off. Do you have to disconnect the cable at the front where it connects to the handbrake handle? If so, where is the cable connection and what do I need to disconnect it? Or, do I need to slacken the cable off at wherever it adjusts?

Thanks!

IIRC (and bear with me because it's a while since I've done it...) you need to slacken the handbrake cable right off INSIDE the car...

Remove the trim surrounding the handbrake lever which will reveal a turnbuckle and all the cable divider assembly and so forth.

Back the turnbuckle right off until the cable is as slack as it will go (without the thing falling apart obviously...).

You should now be able to pull the cable through more at the caliper and disconnect it.

When you retighten the cable, you want the handbrake lever to do about 6 or 7 "clicks" from fully off to fully on.

All the necessary info is in the Haynes manual...
