Anyone want to buy a Volvo? I cannot sell it for less than £15K...I don't expect a response.

Huh? I looked at the For Sale section and there are only offers and wants listed for 'GENERIC PARTS".
Seems "whole auto" might as well be done here?

Just list the particulars of your vehicle. No?

I replaced my latest in a long line of 850 T5's with another in a long line of V70 D5's back in October. This time a 2005 V70 D5 163bhp manual with 241,000 miles but in reasonably good shape and cheap enough. Basically, a tool to stick miles on, cart stuff (including a toddler) around and not care about too much.

Since arriving, I've...

Spent several hours getting off the chewed up lock nuts
Replaced the corroded NSF wing with a good one
Polished the tarnished headlights
Cleaned the EGR valve and intake pipe
Cleaned the boost control solenoid and turbo control valve
Vacuum tested the mounts, rear fine, front seeping slightly so by-passed
Replaced the fuel filter
Taken off the Orestas and fitted Ford 16" steel five spokes with winter tyres
Replaced a very worn OSF wheel bearing
Replaced both ball joints
Replaced both front drop links
Partially drained the cooling system, topped up with neat coolant
Replaced the scabby front discs, replaced with Apec discs and pads
Stripped, cleaned, greased and rebuilt all four calipers
Washed it once

Getting there...

I got a Brake fluid tester delivered today, I checked with the fluid in the car and with fluid in the tin (almost new) and some old stuff that I use for any bleeding purposes, Good results ! In car 1% water, tin was a bit higher, and old stuff way out !!

Fixed the drivers window. It was down and refused to budge. All other window switches were working perfectly so took the drivers switch panel out, cleaned and sprayed all connections with contact cleaner..hey presto ! All working perfectly

Took mine for its Contrôle Technique today. Before I had to replace one of those HB3 headlamps and I put 2 new tires on the front.

Result = PASS

Advisory = Fog lamps aim too low.

Chuffed with that at 15yrs and 138k miles.

Good for another 2yrs now

The alarm service message popped up again, so pulled the fuse no 38 to stop the drain when the ignition is off.

The fuse slipped from the puller and dropped through the slot at the bottom of the fuse bank disappearing into the underside the lower dash.

It will just have to wait until the rains stops long enough to pull the lower tray off.

I spent an hour and a half clearing out a sewer today ...
... wet wipes and fats from other people's houses.

The run goes through my garden and I didn't want to wait for the call out to spring into action.
