Dashboard repair
Hi has any one tried repairing the split dash by using filler and painting it with vinyl paint?

No, I've never tried this, but it would never be more than a temporary fix. I recently bought a complete new dash cover for my Amazon from Brookhouse and fitted it Myself. Not cheap, but it is the best long term fix. Not that difficult a DIY job. It took about 3 hours and I'm not an experienced trimmer. Looks great once finished

I used to do smart repairs before i was a PDR technician, you can do what you want but i would use the proper gel and activator (or dash filler), then some primer, feather it out some, then some medium or heavy texture, light sand with some 800, and 1500 grit, then the correct colour applied, may need to 1500 the 1st layer of paint and then add another light coat, flicking it out to blend, i would get the colour mixed up and just use a small atomizer to blow the paint on using ya mouth, keeps it very local then, i did my previous C70 steering wheel using the above method but without the filler, lasted till i sold it
