Default Update on RED TRIANGLE ABS problem.. Engine won't start!

I'm posting this as an update to my post last week in the hope someone can help! With no warning I got a red "Brake fault stop motor"" message and the engine cut and won't restart. I have since bought and used a Diagnostic scanner (brilliant bit of kit!) http://www.ukprodiagnostics.co.uk/pa...ent_item_94065

The error message I've got from the Diagnostic scanner is ABS - 0112 "Body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) ... Sensor not calibrated" How do I calibrate this sensor ??? !!!! Is this enough to stop the motor running ??? !!!
Help PLEASE !

Volvo Vida Dice can calibrate
The scanner you have bought is a generic trouble code reader only. Cant do much with this tool only read/delete trouble codes and reset SRI or similar

And.. Is there any way of bypassing this to get the engine running? I live in France.. The dealers here are TOTALLY incompetent. I had a 3 month long NIGHTMARE with them last year... Almost 7,000€ the poorer, we had to bring the car back to the UK in August to finally get it sorted. HELP!

Personally I never had this or similar problem and find it very odd you cant start a car because of this.
Never had a chance to calibrate (adaptation) this sensor. It is also known as untiroll stability sensor. And it is related to the whole stability system of the car: ABS, ESC, etc..
I did calibrated other things with vida dice. As long precedure doent require software update you can get away with aftermarket volvo vida dice tool fixing a problem.

Are you sure you scanned engine control unit as well to show trouble codes?

Volvo Dice you can get of ebay including software. The price is about 80 pounds. roughly. Its not genuine tool, its a clone but does many things.
You will need PC/Laptop to get software installed. Probably will have to spent a lot of time to get vida software going because sometimes its not easy to install. Best way - fresh windows xp or 7 installation and then vida on top

No engine code faults..just the ABS one and a reversing sensor (which I already knew about) I've ordered the VIDA/DICE and will see what that throws up. I might just light a fire under it....

Do you have a second key?
Try to start engine with that one if you do have it.

Also remove ABS controller fuse and give a go before dice tool will arrive

If you think the ABS fault is to blame for the engine not starting then why not use your fault reader to clear the ABS DTC and try to start the car?
If clearing the fault lets the car start then you know where to look. If the car won't start with the fault cleared then you have another issue I reckon.

I dont think he will be able to clear that fault. Its permanent until adaptation (calibration) is performed.
But I have a feeling he cant start a car caused by other reason. As soon he receives volvo dice and gets it going than we can start looking into something deeper - check live data.
Now its just going round and round

The message clears and then comes back.. As DIRO says...it needs calibrating..and the fault reader won't do that...Hence my need to buy a VIDA/DICE !
