Default Free SatNav Update 2011-2014MY

Hi,

Not been around much, so this may of been posted years ago. However I’ve found the below link regarding Free SatNav Updates for:-

Model Years 2011 to 2014* ONLY and must have Sensus + SatNav

YES > S80 / S60 / V40 & V40 Cross Country / V60 / V70 / XC60 / XC70

https://www.sentinelcars.co.uk/acces...satnav-update/

Anyone have any more details....? I have a XC70 ‘61’ plate (think it’s a 2012MY) & wounding if this will work on my car, I have Sensus and it does have SatNav but the Maps have never been updated since new.

should work, you would have the nav button the left with no globe button the right? you can tell from the volvo download site here https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/downloads/maps

I would say 30 minutes is optimistic to do it mind, personally I think its worth doing if your keeping the car! we normally budget an hour.

Have you had the car from new? if not the last owner might of had it done... you can always download the maps yourself and try it, if it asks for a key then you need to get the update done first

I’ve had it from new so I know it’s not been updated; but it doesn’t have a Globe button (see photo attached).

I’ve phoned a few Volvo dealerships and the prices range from £89-£165 but they want the car for the whole day....

I can't rememeber off hand the prices, think last time we did it, cost around £95 including vat.

To be fair, we would ask to leave it for the day, if it goes wrong it takes hours to resolve. Usually it will be done in around an hour but if the software fails it's a bit of a nightmare to sort out!
