Rear wings needed
Hi!
Part way through a full restore job. Can someone recommend a place that does the full rear wings (not just the repair panels) for a P1800s. I know Brookhouse may do them and sites in Sweden, but wonder if anyone knows of someone in the UK or another good source outside UK. Also is there any truth in the fact that replacement wings do not last as long as the orginals? Thanks |

Hi,
You didn't say if it was for an S / E / ES. I've just been looking for two rear wings for an S. It seems there are a limited number of original off side panels left for the S. The moulds for pressing these have not been found and so will not be available again as exactly original when supplies run out (possibly 18 months or so). There are no longer any near side rears left for the S, but you can easily adapt the original panels that are still available for the E. The same story applies for the near side with the pressing moulds. Front wings will always be available as they are still being pressed. If you hunt really hard, some rear ones may turn up. 4 years ago I bought a pair of original rear wings from a bloke in Oxford for £400. I'd go straight to Simon at Brookhouse Volvo if time is not on your side. Hope this helps, Gordon |

Thanks Gordon,
It is for the S. Brought all the wheel arch repairs from Simon at Brookhouse, then realised to get to a hole in the upper inner part of the off side wing it would be better to replace with a whole new wing as the repairs need the wing removed to put the wheel arch repair parts on. ! Realised you cannot put the wheel arch repairs on from inside I am looking for the full wings up to the weld that is hidden under the chrome strip. |
