2004 V40 1.9TD wastegate actuator
Good afternoon all.
I am a recent convert to Volvo ownership and have only just joined this community so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place or if I am repeating someone elses thread. I have a 2004 V40 1.9TD and having problems with the turbo boost. The turbo still works but makes a hissing sound on acceleration and is slow to build up boost pressure, I have tested the actuator using a vacuum tester, it holds the vacuum pressure but the actuator arm doesn't move at all whilst doing this. Could a new actuator solve the problem or do you think it is more sinister? Any shared experiences or advice would be most welcome. |

It would seem that I had my vacuum tester connected to the wrong pipe, have connected it properly now and the actuator is in fine fettle.
