I have had my T5 3 years and 40k (now on 140k)
Clutch slave cylinder went - complete clutch kit (£950)
Aircon radiator (£250)
Oil Separator (£250)
Cambelt and tensioners (£300)
Leaks inside car (sunroof drains)
Rear Wheel bearing - full hub (£150)
Battery (£80)

and

A gallon of unleaded every 25 miles !

If you floor it, you get torque steer like an old vauxhall, as the ECU tries to reign in all the power (The 4 wheel drive cars may be a little better, but I have not driven one)

It's not been good on maintenance costs, these are the additional costs on top of routine servicing

Are those prices fitted? Decent skf rear hubs can be had for £60, different engine I know, but my clutch slave cylinder went on 2.0d and sourced new clutch kit, slave cylinder and dual mass flywheel for £350 (Luk kit)

Yes, those prices are fitted. The clutch kit for a T5/Focus RS 2.5 inc DMF and slave cylinder isn't cheap or easy to fit.

Saab 9-5 Aero is a great car to drive if you want to experience some torque steer That's what happens with 275BHP in FWD

So this one is 07 plate T5 se sport auto. Oil changes every 10k other than 2016 where is got changed at 14k mile interval. According to them a lot by volvo specialists.

I believe the tax bracket went up early 2006 for high emissions so this one is hit with the 555 ish amount. <2006 is cheaper and i know 2010 also 315 as i looked at another t5 (but r design) last which which sold before i could get there.

Will listen out for everything you have said and the car comes with 3 month warranty and breakdown cover but fingers crossed it's never needed.

Glad to read no major horror stories, most of those points seem okay to fix or add if needed.

Will post later as viewing the car in 2 hours and let you know if it's looking good

Thanks again!

Ps forgot to add - no record of cambelt change so will be getting this done asap as ove 10 yrs and have offered 300 less (hope it's around that to change it!?) which they are okay with. The belt kit itself looks cheap but would rather a garage do it
There are two sets of Aux belts and tensioners on this , so the most expensive volvo engine for Cambelt and aux belt parts ...
This later T5 has a polestar engine software upgrade available which takes it to the proper High pressure T5 260 bhp .
