Thanks

hi paul
the two rubber pipes come from your boost selonoid switch them round i suspect looking at the pics they are the wrong way round. the maf is mechanical and the only repair as such is to make sure the flap opens correctly and thats all you can do with this maf.
hope that helps.

Default Power loss on 2.5TDI-possible vac problem and MAF

Hi Again

I was talking to a bosch agent and they said if I plug out the MAF and if it drives ok then I'll know if the MAF sensor is my problem. From what I understand the car should drive ok with the MAF plugged out. It's just that I live in town and I'm reluctant to take it for a test drive and end up stranded in the middle of the street. I'd appreciate if you could also take a look at my pics on my previous posting and give me your comments. The agent also told me that the MAF I have has been discontinued. If it turns out to be my problem does anyone know where I can get a replacement MAF. Thanks again

Cheers Mike. I disconntected the MAF and took it for a drive. I certainly noticed a difference. The car was much smoother in lower gears, it pulled off in first and second gears much better however the overall power was lower in all gears and there was had one slight hesitation when i put my foot down. I don't want to get too excited just in case, id like to drive it a bit more. I'm going to take better pics this evening of all the pipes, the last ones were on my phone so I'll use a proper camera. I was talking to the bosch agent again and explained the problem. He said it's more than likely the MAF but said he'd have a quick look at it for me. I only live a few mins away so I may aswell. Mike, thanks for the offer of the MAF I'll message you once I've tested it a bit more and looked at those pipes again. The bosh no is 0 281 002 074 and think it may be superseeded by part no 0 281 002 155. I'll keep you updated and once again thanks for your help.
