  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Car went to the dealer lst Thusday and some rework was done. Apparently, Volvo is aware of defective spline (?) but it did not cured they problem and both side drive shaft need to be replaced !!! Hope to get this done before Xmas ....

all it needs is the modified drive shaft bolts with the rubber spacer ( there is a volvo bulletin they should be aware of ) and a ring of loctite where the drive shaft touches the rear of the wheel bearing for good luck .. But as you arent paying sit back and let them get on with it :-)

My 03 model had the loctite part done by the supplying dealer at 46,000/4years which cured it. They may have changed the bolts too but I'm not sure about it.

Booked in for next Monday, will let them do the job (under warranty) and aks them to provide me with a copy of the job card so that I know exactly what they've done bit I suspect that they initially tried to slove the problem as described in the bulletin but didn't cure.

Will post next week once I have the car back.

Thanks for the advise, always good to know what needs to be done !!!
