Default v70 t5 with lpg kit what you think

Hi guys I’ve been looking to getting the Volvo bug again having had a 440, and 850 in the past one off which got written off, too much to repair for the insurer I wish I fought harder with them would probably still had it !

I cant seem to get anything near to the space security feeling and comfort I had with that old 850 so I’m going to look at a 1999 v70 t5 with lpg kit, mileage is a bit on the high side and but with the rising fuel cost £1.29 and my local garage providing lpg for 0.65 ish its all most half the price ,and lpg fuel is always higher in the winter as long as I can remember.

My thinkings are to convert a v70 to lpg is in and around 1000-1200 from what I’ve read plus the cost off the car so if I pick one that’s been, converted for under £1000 which this one is ,if any was to happen or costly repairs to the t5 I would have an LPG kit to fit on to another v70 for free !

I’ve been told its a landi conversion don’t know age yet are these any good and are they Interchangeable with any v70 or only with t5 off that year.

I’m a lpg qualified heating engineer so hoping I might be able to swap over repair if ever need to with some help from the experts on this board! Dose the co, co2, ratio on these conversions get check adjust like boilers?

I’ve read the tanks last around 10 years possible more depending on checks which i think i should be able to do is it just soundness testing and visuals.

What kind off things should i be looking out for on the t5 I’ve read the v70 buyer guide any one else got any more tips help relating to lpg the guy says its got a good service history and recently been serviced

Had my C70 converted using the BRC system ... Excellent conversion ... ! And super smooth running ... I had a cheaper LPG system fitted to my 960 which went seriously wrong after 10,000 miles ... After that experience I paid for the best conversion I could ... Already done 20,000 miles without any real issues bar a retune ...

Landi multi point systems are quite good.

ECU's produced by AEB but in a format only used by Eurogas and Landi

Injectors are normaly either kein (very good) or MED not so good. The MED's can give problems and are normaly loud with quite a high minium opening time.

The system would transfer over to either another 5 cylinder or with new injectors to a 6 cyl fuel injected engine. When changing from one car to another teh system will need re calibrating.

If the car is running well you cant go wrong.

Only a visual inspection is needed with the tank. the 10 year rule on aplies to tanks mounted outside.

I had an R plate T5 running Landi LPG. It had done best part of quarter million miles when I sold it, with 150k running on LPG. Best car I ever owned. The gearbox rattled in a worrying way, but after 90k miles like that we decided it wasn't that bad!
Now a V70R running multi point LPG would be my ideal.
