Default Tyre wear update

My Vredstien Wintrack 4 Extremes are wearing at a rate of 1mm per 12,000 miles, which would indicate 72,000 miles to the legal limit from new.

No, they are winter tyres that you can use all year round, so they are a softer compound than summer tyres. Wet weather performance is fantastic which is why I like them so much.

So how does that work! I'd have thought that if they were softer they would have a high wear rate than 1mm every 12,000 miles.

Al,
Yes, I wondered that as well when I switched from cross plys to radials in 1968 and was suprised when I went from tyre changes at 12,000 miles to 33,000 miles on my mini, but had shed loads more grip.
