Default V40 1.6 2015 Temperature going high

Hi I have a Volvo V40 1.6 R Design, the temperature gauge is going up way high and a message to pull over safely as soon as possible coming up on dash.

The blower inside is blowing hot and cold when car is warm?

Any advice would be appreciated as dont want to damage the engine.

Thank You

I think the best option is to get the car to a Volvo dealer as soon as possible to get it checked out.

Have you seen this thread about the D2 engine overheating:-

Hopefully it is nothing as bad as that though.
