Default Fuel gauge

Hi all. Just had a service on the v50. Since then, my fuel gauge has been playing up. Put in a full tank and all was well. Next day I start the car and I see half a tank (apparently). Slowly it went up to full again but now after only 25 miles of driving it's saying half a tank.

Could replacing a fuel filter cause this problem?? Will it go away??

Can't see any leaks or smell any diesel

Cheers

Its a v50 2.0D 2010

Was your car parked on an tilt so the drivers side was higher than the passenger side (or vice versa)? Many of my cars over the years have done this when not parked flat. It takes a while to normalise once level again.

No it's been parked on a flat drive. It's only started since the fuel filter got changed. It's stuck at 3/4 tank atm. Bot going up or down.

It indicated full tank at petrol station after I filled it though
