Let us know if it solves the issue when the new one is fitted. |

Any update on this? Is it fixed?
I had a new DPF blocked after about 200 miles which I think was down to a worn turbo. Too early to be sure yet. |

Blocked DPF
It seems the turbo was not the cause of my woes after all.
Having paid my local Volvo dealer to look into the issue on at least 3 different occasions I had fitted new DPF, Catalytic converter, EGR valve and exhaust sensor. I had paid them to regenerate the DPF on at least 2 occasions. Having run out of other possibilities, I decided to get the injectors checked. I wish I had done this years ago. My local garage charged 2 1/2 hours labour to remove and refit them. Peter Strong near Reading quoted £15 per injector to test them and did so very quickly. Total cost of investigation was less than the £200 that the Volvo dealer charged for a few minutes on the analyser that missed the main cause... All four injectors were wrong in varying ways. It seems that the Siemens injectors cannot readily be serviced or rebuilt so I was offered a new set at £180 per injector. Time will tell, but I am hopeful that we have now sorted an issue that has been plaguing me for years now. I don't know what information the dealer's diagnostic kit should be able to get regarding individual injectors, but the fuel injection specialist was very surprised that they were unable to diagnose the problem. |

Interesting get a written report on the injectors and take it back to dealer with invoices for the work which proved fruitless (once confirmed) and perhaps have a chat with the service manager.

Yes, they are but this is the make not the type. For instance my engine has 5WS40677 and they are Siemens too.

My 2.0l really did block the DPF and in fewer than 100 miles. It turned out that all 4 injectors were unserviceable. On my car it was about an hour's labour to get the injectors out and £15 each to test at a diesel specialist. If I had another similar problem I would start with this. It's much cheaper than changing all the other components that might be wrong and even if they are ok you will know you have eliminated a likely culprit.

In reply to the above, the injectors on my V50 are Siemens 9657144580
