Default Vacuum tubes.

2004 XC70 D5 awd.

Hello....I would like to know your opinion about the vacuum tubes.
I have replaced my vacuum tubes to the engine mounts with silicone vacuum tube, 4mm change the T all is good. Do you think i can also change the ones that go from vacuum pump to the boost solenoid and then to turbo? I ask because this are made of hard plastic, and they have a mesh, maybe because of temperature...this silicone vacuum tube hold to 200 degrees Celsius....so i guess they will not melt.
What you advise?
Thank You

Sorry don’t have an answer for you but would be very interested in someone else’s thoughts as I’m going through the same job on mine to try to get rid of an air intake leak.

I've always replaced with silicone. The "rubber" stuff stiffens, leaks and seems to become graphite.
With turbos in the family for years I've never had any problems with silicone vacuum hose; even long runs.

Years ago a Toyota parts man gave me "siliconized" 4mm hose which actually felt like a 50:50 mix of old stuff and pure silicone. It was better but today the silicone product is no longer a "super premium" product.

I use blue vacuum hose as it looks real cool under the hood
