V40 1999, 1.9td Transponder Communication

Please help,
My V40 1.9Td 1999/03 has an engine management light on. I have diagnosed the issue using iCarsoft, that shows " Transponder communication, No communication ". I have cleared the fault but it returns constantly.
I noticed that the em light goes off when I press the brake pedal, although the fault still appears in the diagnostic.
Also, there is an intermittent dash light that says " ignition Fault " but this clears after a short while.
I don't have a remote unlocking device, only handed 2 keys, without any chip inside.
One key only opens the tailgate and the other key opens the doors and ignition.
The car starts first time every time and the locks work as they should on the drivers door lock.
