Didnt really consider that. Although it sems like cheating, it's a better idea than removing the whole window along with all that is involved with that!

Might give that try to see how I get on

I am glad that you got it done. I did a similar conversion to my 122 in 2005 (pic attached). I think that I used a 10mm bolt for the bottom bracket plus loads of washers to align the pulleys.

I also fitted some heat shields around the exhaust to prevent it overheating when in traffic.

Mike, yours looks much lower than mine as well. Did you custom fab that top bracket?

Think the heat shield is definately a good idea. Does just any bit of metal stuck in between the manifold & the alternator work or do I have to do anything special?

I did weld up my own bracket (badly) having looked at what I could attach it to. The heat shield is just 0.5mm steel (from B&Q) cut and painted.
