Default crunching on 1st and 2nd

Could anyone identify the possible cause of this gear problem.

Occasionally (perhaps one in 20 occasions) the gear stick kind of crunches into 2nd from 1st, or into first from 2nd. The lever moves up/down too quickly, without the nice notchy quality, and makes a crunching noise. After that it might be fine for the rest of the day, but then come back.

I have never had synchromesh problems on an Amazon, and mine has only done 95,000 since new, but I suppose they do occur. Can I leave this for a bit, or will leaving it make the repair more expensive?

BY the way, my previous fuel needle bevaviour was fixed nicely by fitting a new fuel sender. Quick job and no more jittering.
All the best, Tom

Could be a worn syncro but it might just be that the clutch needs a small adjustment. It's easy to be lazy sometimes and not get the clutch pedal down quite enough. Big feet, big shoes, mats and carpets also a factor. A bit of service might be due. Gearbox oil change, check for signs of brass in the oil. Change clutch fluid and bleed well. Adjust clutch slave cylinder push rod.
Slow your changes down, maybe, to 1 pause 2 - 2 pause 1.
Drive carefully...........................
