Default 18" Pegasus here at last!!!

Hi all,

well wheels finally arrived and on the car!
Tyres are Goodyear F1's GS-D3 225/40's, not much room between the fronts and the shocks, about 3mm in all, but was told by the fitter that he had seen plenty of cars with much less! :o

After all my concerns about getting the right tyres & and making sure the fitters were going to torque up the new wheels correctly,(no air wrench's) i unloaded the wheels from the car & and headed for the vending machine, whilst new rubber went onto the rims.

On my return to the service bay ohhhhhh nnoooooooo,;( the fitter had used said air wrench to try to remove the locking wheel nut. Needless to say the squigly security pattern was no more. They wanted to put on 3rd party l/nuts back on, but i was not having that, as I know i read on this forum that they can eat into alloys. So now I have 4 out 5 nuts on every wheels, until the Volvo replacement set turn up.

Anyway no rubbing as yet, but no spirited driving yet either, not until the missing l/nuts arrive anyway. ;-)

regards,

i assume the locking wheel nuts you mention was the ribbon type (with a contintous band going around the edge of the nut). I have used these before & have managed to remove the said ribbon just by using a normal hand rachet, i now only use the 3 pin locking wheel nuts

Wow...Howard, they look stunning. I'm turning green!

Also notice you've got your black mesh grille in as well! Far better than the "wimp-like" Volvo job!

Bet your'e delighted!

When's the RICA happening then?

Hi,

How much do you want for the Titans? My S80 T6 looks rather dull with the standard wheels on it...
