Drain upon initial shutdown 570ma.
Few minutes later, 180ma.
Something has started to sap power.
Aside from pulling each fuse one at a time (and there's lots) Vida won't be able to identify as it needs the car running to function and interrogate?

Just a thought.. had this on an old V70. The glovebox light was always on as switch never opened. Suggest remove bulb and make sure it is not that.

Fault traced to the amp under the drivers seat.
Disconnect, no more parasitic drain.
As nothing had been added to the car that wasn't already there, I'm at a loss to work out why this has become a problem.

Anyway, cursory glance would suggest that a new to me so is required, but this needs coding by a Volvo dealers, in which case they would only want to sell me a a new one?

What I meant to say was, a new to me amp, or one of eBay. Or if someone on here has one from a breaker/donor vehicle.

Alternatively, dependent on cost, I could just replace the while head unit and bypass the internal amp altogether?
But with the Volvo MOST system, is that possible without opening another can of worms and getting more problems?

Hi, you might want to contact lucasz at Volvo diagnostics. He might be able to advise you if the amp is a straight swap.

Volvodiagnostics.com

Certainly he can replace head units and they control the most bus.

Note, without most, no radio, sat Nav or park sensors.

But a new head unit could include satnav and rear view camera.

I recon amp replacement cheapest and simplest option.

Just sent him a message.
£100 plus courier costs of our can just be plugged straight back in without software issues would be amazing.
Don't know how long I can survive without a stereo and Bluetooth for me and the rear dvds for the kids though... HAHAHA 😂

Edit: just occurred to me... The rear dvds are self-contained units, so surely they're just wired for 12v directly and not via the amp, as they connect to their own wireless headphones or individual aux sockets on the front of the unit? After market, not the Volvo system. Professional installation several years ago by previous owner. I'll need to check if they're still working tomorrow, but I know for a fact the stereo will power on, but then just stays blank.
Also got a call in to jump leads to see what they can suggest as they're quite a bit nearer than Lucasz.

Hi, if it is the 10dvd unit then it is completely separate from the audio system. It is self contained.

Not sure about the Volvo 1 dvd.

Cheers

The Volvo center-armrest single DVD system is also self-contained.
I have one.
It just needs power and it works.
No fancy CAN bus interface to the rest of the vehicle.
