Default S60 (2012) SRS light comes on when pax door opened

Hi,

My S60 D3 (2012) has a new problem: When I open the passenger door with the engine running, it triggers an "Urgent SRS Service" message and SRS warning light. The warning resets and goes out if I cycle the ignition.

Is this fixable with a reset on VIDA/DICE? I have a clone VIDA/DICE unit and laptop, but before trying, grateful for advice on how to safely disconnect car from the VIDA/DICE. Do I shut down the software first, or turn the car off with the software still running? Or something else!

many thanks

you must get the SRS fault code to determine where the problem is ...

managed to read it with the VIDA. SRS-B11A081 Left side restraints pressure sensor - Bus signal / message failures - invalid serial data received
(see attached photo)

Question is, what can I do about it and can it be 'reset' on VIDA? I can't work out how to reset DTCs at the moment...

I was also a bit shocked about the amount of DTCs showing. Is that normal and are there any I can 'fix'?

Grateful for any help

Behind the door panel above the speaker is a little electrical pressure sensor to measure the air pressure in the door , when you have a big side impact the air pressure goes up a lot of course. This will enable the side curtain to be deployed , It is very important you don't beak and of the sealing material you see behind the card door panel . look for contact troubles in the plug or maybe it's not there ...

Not sure if it's the same problem as yours, but I had the same issue and message and Volvo replaced a section of the wiring loom into the doors which they said was the subject of a safety bulletin.

I then thought I'd gone a bit deaf until I realised they hadn't reconnected the tweeter speakers!

Don't worry about them yet, a lot of them will be a chain of events where one fault stops other things working and then they start logging up and lost comms ones sometimes vanish with a DTC clear, see whats what once you get the door fixed, don't rule out broken wires all it takes is a repeated twist/kink to soon snap the wires and they are so small anyway.
