No it's plugged into the accessory point between the seats via a USB lead.I have been using this for the last 4 years with no problems.

Electrics play havoc if they don't get the correct amount of power, in this scenario your phone is maxed out with background apps but still trying to activate a strong enough BT signal which it can't if the other things are consuming all the battery has to offer,

It probably isn't this but unless you rule it out you'll carry on looking for something that can't be fixed.

Ok well that gets that out of the way, 98% for an old phone like that is impressive btw, I would go for sanitation now if you've checked the sound settings, sometimes an update breaks things, imagine a house built as a house then imagine another house that's had additions added to it over the years, one house is as is the other a mish mash of miss matching styles and varied era decoration, one is as intended the other a complete mindfuzz of "what have they done there" so to speak.

Resetting the car might be a faster option and another thing ruled out before you wipe the phone Jas.

Well just been to sisters and her phone will NOT connect either so it must be the car.

SnineT, how do i reset the car i have tried forget the phone and started again but it just says no connection.

I don't know what you have tbh Jas, I'm working on an S60 but have no idea of the age, however if you go to Volvo online manual and select your car it should show you an option in the entertainment control settings to factory reset.

If you can't find a factory reset in My Car Audio find your phonebook and delete that.
