The price of the Active XC90 model will increase by £265 and will no longer have Active Bending Lights and H/lamp Washers as standard. Bluetooth System is now available as a factory option . Price and specification of all other XC90 models are not changed.

I have, I ordered 2.4 but I am now presumably waiting to hear from my dealer when final specs and pricing become available to shift me onto the new 2.0. Or they may not even mention it!

It strikes me that having placed an order a few weeks ago but the book closed before the dealer was able to place it, that I will have an additional £260 charge and no Active lights. The winter pack was an additional £1000 which included the lights but was only £350 for the Active model as it had the lights fitted.
Therefore £260 + the winter pack of £650 means the same car spec is now £910 more. UK Car Broker had a saving of £9K so even at £8K saving it is still a great deal. |

Is it only the DrivE version that will get the 2,0 engine? I have ordered a 2,4 R-design and I certainly want the 2,4.

Is that the newly designated D3 ? If so its a 2 litre version of the 185 bhp D5 why they have so many variations in a short time is very confusing ..

I think that you are both (or it might be me) confused.
XC60 despite only being a couple of years old has had a number of engines. 2009 had the same 2.4 litre 185bhp engine as the XC90 2010 had a new single turbo 2.4 litre 175hp engine in 2.4D models and the twin turbo 205hp euro 4 emissions motor in the D5 models 2011 have a new 2.0 litre 163bhp motor, based on the 2010 2.4D, now known as the D3 and an updated 2.4 litre euro 5 emissions 205bhp motor in the D5 models. The D5 has reduced emissions but on the data available identical power/ torque curves which I find difficult to believe. |

I'm going on this info: https://www.media.volvocars.com/glob...fications.aspx https://www.media.volvocars.com/glob...fications.aspx It lists two 2.4D diesels albeit the same engine tweaked and two D5s again tweaked. Someone has said on here that the D3 engine could be a modification of the penta marine engine of which I know nothing. |
