Hmmm just seen where you live, I’d be tempted to get winter tyres and wheels. If you lived in Spalding or Kings Lynne (totally flat) the a set of cross climates would be fine.

I shouldn’t let living in Huddersfield put you off. I live between the two national parks in North Yorkshire, there has not been a hill I could not get up with the cross climates

Well I've just acquired a set of these, they've got used crossclimates on but there's only maybe 5mm left on them. since I have these 18s now I might as well get full winters on them. I won't start the debate on the best winter tyres but feel free to name and shame with your experiences, I'll go through the forum for info too.
just one more thing, if I leave the best 2 crossclimates on the back could I just put 2 winters on the front? or is it a nono? not sure if Michelin are devaluing the 3 peak symbol by putting it on what is effectively an all season tyre! not trying to say there not a brilliant tyre though. Rick

The 3 peak symbol is on a few all season tyres now - also the Vredestain Quatrac.

Check out Cooper Discoverer Winter for a good value, excellent performing winter tyre. Vredestain and Nokian very popular with members here

It's really not a good idea to mix winter, summer and/or all season tyres. However if you must then the grippiest pair should be fitted to the rear to minimise the tendancy to oversteer.

thanks everyone,i did sort of know the answer to mixing tyres but with ccs having the 3 peaks it made me wonder if a 3 peak winter just on the front would be ok if you see my logic. the youtube link has some very good info/advice.
Rick

I have a set of XC60 wheels which I used on my 2017 D4 XC60 in ‘18 & ‘19.
Today I thought I’d fit them to our new ‘20model XC60 but sadly the calliper catches so I can’t use them. The wheels are 18” 5spoke, easy to clean, and they’re in excellent condition. £300 for all 4 without tyres. Let me know if they’re of interest to you and I’ll send you some pics.
