Default XC60 Bonnet locked on drivers side

Hi. Seems to be a fairly common issue but couldn’t specific instructions for mine. When I pull the interior handle it opens the passenger side catch but the drivers side appears to be stuck in lock position. I’ve sprayed some WD40 into it which helped when this happened a couple of years ago but not this time.

Any ideas ?

It worked. Thanks for the tip. Need to get it looked at so doesn’t happen again.

👍. I love a simple result even more so when no further damage is done. Well done.

Mine has always been a bit reluctant to unlatch on the driver side as well to the point it once refused to open at the first tug of the bonnet release lever so I've lubed it quite generously with white lithium grease and while it's still a bit lazy it does now open every time. Also try adjusting the bonnet rubber spacer to created a bit of tension so it's more egger to unlatch.
