I have HU-850 on 05 XC70 and music is streamed from Iphone 6s.
I would suggest it's a phone setting rather than the unit. I'm not an iPhone guy, however on android I have a specific Bluetooth connection for call audio and/or media audio. Worth having a play in the settings.

Will have a play with the wife's iPhone a little later.

I thought it's behaving strangely and looked up couple of tutorials but nothing solved the mystery. Will have a go with my girlfriend's Iphone too.

Compatibility issue? Yours is I hope you don’t mind me saying quite an elderly iPhone... Have you tried a more recent device? I suspect you don’t have the more recent versions of iOS installed. Is the 6 still supported by Apple? Have you checked for updates?

I just did this upgrade on my S60 I was using an FM transmitter, I got the hands free version but I'll install the mic another time when I rip out the annoying Nokia kit!

It's truly a life changing experience! It doesn't feel like my ears are broken anymore!

Mystery resolved. I emailed the manufacturer and discovered that there are apparently two different units. One only streams music and one allows for hands free calls.

I thought both units are the same and one hands free one features a microphone input but the hardware is different too.

Will swap the devices and report if that made any difference.

I bought one and installed today, no issues with the installation as I have had my HU-850 out previously so knew how to go about it, only had to slip it out part way and install the 'dongle' at the back of the radio unit and slide back and refix the t25 screws at the base.

Excellent piece of kit for a low price, works perfectly with my Samsung S8 and with full control on the steering wheel.

Thought I’d bump this thread as I fitted my Bluetooth adapter today and as everyone else has said it works great. A doddle to fit and sounds brilliant.

Does anyone know what would have been plugged in to my 10CD socket? I’ve never found a 10CD changer but something was occupying that socket!
My radio is a HU850.

Cheers, Luke.

Hi Luke,

Volvo prewire their cars for pretty much everything. On my V70R the 8pin DIN connection was plugged into the back of the radio, but no CD changer fitted in the boot.

If you remove the left side panelling in the boot (i assume the same on an S60) you will see connections for the CD changer & RTI system.

These look great.

I am using a Connects2 version in my V70 and it's great. It was about £80 which seemed steep but was cheaper and easier than upgrading the head unit.
