A Name to Call Ourselves....

Everybody had a chance to vote on the name, many people did not take the opportunity. Julie is correct in stating that there were last minute votes after she had declared the winning name of the poll. We should have had a closing date for the poll, this was an error. It is not the first time on this forum where we have had people trying to manipulate polls. We will take steps to ensure that it does not happen again.

That is an interesting point Chris and I hope a tongue in cheek one knowing your past posts. The irony is that Volvo United is all about bringing people together not pushing people apart - the idea is to have meets that are not affiliated to any particular forum where we can all enjoy each others cars and company without discrimination, there are no conditions on being a member of the VOC forums or Volvo United (apart from agreeing to the basic rules of the forum) everybody is welcome! Inclusion not exclusion is the VOC Community and Volvo United way.

Duane, you've hit the nail on the head. The people that have seen the poll have had an opportunity to vote and they have either taken that up or decided that they weren't interested for one reason or another - that's the freedom of choice offered here.

Dave, just a point here. One of your members posted on your site how much they had enjoyed a Crooked Billet meet in October - this thread was deleted. The member then answered an old thread where members of your forum were invited to a previous Crooked Billet meet, you then answered this thread with a sarcastic reply criticising the poster for mentioning the Crooked Billet meet once again as it was a meet organised by another forum - the thread then disapeared. You may delete posts about other meets on other forums, however you can't stop people talking about and supporting other meets because you delete posts about them. The irony here is that you did attend a Crooked Billet meet a couple of years ago and you were made welcome as everybody is no matter what forum they belong to.
