That's really got me interested.

Would be interesting to know whether it's possibly to take your own car to it. I know there will be the usual disclaimers about Volvo not being liable for damage, but assuming it's on a frozen lake in the North in Sweden during winter, there should be quite a lot of space around should you mess up!

Yes it is possible and I've seen some non Volvo days run that way £250 all day on the ice with use of the facilities

Looks like driving there will be expensive! So far I have calculated these approximate costs:
  • Fuel: Driving to/from the School and fuel used during the event - £600
  • Ferry from Dover to Dunkirk - £70
  • Tolls for bridges in Denmark and Sweden both ways - £150
  • Hotels - 3 nights each way and 4 nights at the School, based on average cost of £50 per night - £550

Thats £1,270. On top of that would be items/preperation for the car for the journey. I already have winter tyres but would need to purchase snow chains. I would also need additives for the brake/steering fluids to stop them freezing. Overall I could see it costing at least £1,500!

That's why I'll be reverting to the current format to keep costs down so people can fly under £300 that way

I would be interested in the flying and it would be quicker and taking my 22 year 850 over there the insurance the recovery would be expensive.
