Yes, and No... He found the so called "recall" but says it isn't a recall?? The part number is a mounting bush @ just over £100 + vat - and there are four of them!!!!

I think a letter to Volvo UK may be in order - merchantable quality, and fit for purpose bearing in mind price paid - and all that.......

Any update on this thread ?

My top mount has gone and I'm unsure whether to fit the std later version or the Polybush mount or maybe the std mount and the polybush brace mounts.

Has anyone fitted either Poly mounts on a Diesel ?

Well I couldn't wait for a reply so after talking to Clive at Parts For Volvos I'm trying the Poly end bushes first as I think the main Polybush will increase vibrations too much.

I'll report my finding when I fit them.

Well I fitted the polybushes in the strut mounts.

They simply push into the bottom end of the existing bush - no tools required just spanners to get the bolt off.

They reduce the bars movement by at least 50%.

It may be placebo effect but both myself and my wife felt that the car felt 'tighter' after I'd fitted them.

I then fitted the new style std top mount.

There has been no noticeable increase in vibration so for £25ish I'd suggest you give them a try.
