Default Flaking Front badge replacement - 2013 V60

Hi all,

after a minor incident with a parking bollard my front badge has started to flake off.

Now this (as is most from i can search for) is just the 'colour' and the backing section is still stuck.

So as they are cheap i would like to replace to make it look better, but i cannot fathom how to remove the actual metal/plastic rectangle without damaging the chrome surround (and therefore, needing one of them!).

So any suggestions, any hidden but accessible holes from the behind that could be used to tap it out or similar? thanks

I don't know how true this is but I heard Volvo dealers would replace damaged badges for free. Maybe a myth but someone here should know!

Thanks,

managed to get it off earlier and clean the space up, looks better than the flaked blue even if it is missing!

And i have read about the free replacement, but by the time i have driven there, the time spent arranging, the time spent waiting it will be cheaper just to spend £7!

I popped into my local Volvo service location and bought a replacement there and then. It cost me all of 17 Swedish crowns, (about £1.50).

It's easy enough to replace. One thing to note, if you can still see "VOLVO" in the silver of the emblem then you haven't removed the whole label. It seems that the blue layer delaminates from the emblem.

Just remove the whole emblem insert, clean the surface and re-apply a new one.

It's such a common problem. I multiple cars a week with the blue missing.

EDIT: I see in the photo that VOLVO is still visible.. you should remove that too.

I asked about a replacement volvo badge a couple of months back and the service agent said that offer had expired. He didn’t look into it all too much on the computer though so he may well have just not been bothered to look properly. Either way, I wouldn’t make a special trip for it, getting it delivered is the way I would go if you can fully remove the old one as Snoodini recommends.
