245 odometer gear
Hi all,
I have a new (to me) 1989 245 that seems to have the classic broken/stripped odometer gear. Is there anywhere UK based that I can order one of these from? Many thanks. |

I'm told there is an expert company in the USA who supply all kinds of speedo parts for self-rebuild, but for the life of me can't remember their name! I hope someone else on here can help - prod!
I must admit I've not bothered on my 240 then its successor a 740, and now my 164 is intermittent too: seems like a common problem with older (perhaps only RWD?) Volvo's. P |

Dave barton is the guy you need- there are copy-cat suppliers in the U.K., but Dave Barton worked out what was failing, got the gears printed and tested and has written up a decent set of instructions then posted them on his website.
He ships things really quickly- I got replacement gears and a couple of stickers from him in a couple of days. Cheers |

Ok thank you all, seems that Dave is the man to get in touch with.
I had found his site earlier but thought there might be a UK alternative. I'll speak to him rather. I'm new to Volvo's so there could be a fair amount of questions in the coming weeks/months |
