The solution is as Chris E suggests - if you can, leave all the doors and the boot open for a couple of days and your visitor will undoubtedly find somewhere quieter to live - how would you like it if your house moved off with out warning....you would move out. If that fails, and I don't think it will, get yourself a cat (or a tame terrier) and leave it alone in the car for a hour or two and it will locate the nest. This cannot be down to Volvo - they don't make cars from cheese. My last car - a Saab - failed five miles out of the dealership and was put down to a mouse eating through the turbo pipe! Most likely it came from the transporting ship and not a factory in Sweden. Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

Default Mice andV40

My V40 is only a year old. Found nest in spare wheel last week. Volvo Poole very helpful and removed panels to check everything, but no visible rodents.

Decided to set a trap.

Sat morning, 1 mouse
Sun morning, 1 mouse
Mon morning, 1 mouse
Wed morning, 1 mouse

Can anyone help?

Linda's Saab is parked outside on the drive and, especially at this time of year, we have a problem with mice getting into the engine bay, presumably attracted by the warmth. Fortunately, we have never found one in the car, though.

Regards, John.

I've found this spray works great:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/TOMCAT-Rode...ent/1000763452

I bet you can find something that uses the same active ingredients in the UK.
It's just cedar oil if i remember correctly.
I spray my whole engine bay, hood liner, wiring looms, etc.

Hate to bring a post up from the dead - but did anyone get to the bottom of the mice ingress?

I've seen a few YouTube videos that suggest there's some air intakes in various places (2 in the boot behind the rear wheel arches?) to cover with WireMesh that could be the culprit.

The reason i've found it, there's definate evidence of a mouse house beneath the carpet in the front footwell. Possibly dormant for many years - but its plentiful enougb that if they've got in once. They'll get in again.

I once had mice living in the airbox of my Ducati (in the winter)- they didn't last too long after a couple of trips at 120 though...

Traps, traps and more traps...

Cheers

Dave
