V70 alarm going off
As per title my alarm keeps going off, I know on here it says the siren battery but have not had any messages saying alarm service required?
Only message says alarm triggered check car? Could it just be starting to go bad?

I'm sure if the alarm battery is going down it gives the alarm service required message alone. If it triggers the alarm it will generate both messages.
Check all of the doors and the bonnet are firmly closed first. Also if I accidentally leave a mobile in the car, the notification buzz, is enough to trigger the alarm as are high winds, the cat jumping on the roof, a passing heavy lorry or a plastic football kicked against the front at 3 in the morning......

A failing siren module can trigger an alarm without an Alarm Service message. I've seen it on an S60.
You need access to Dice/Vida and then you can read the trigger event from the car.

Thanks b1mcp, that is worth knowing.
My 2004 T5 V70 has the "alarm service required" message, but hasn't, as yet triggered, the alarm. My Vida/Dice identifies it as an alarm fault so probably the battery on the way out, just before it melts the copper of the printed circuit! Another "roundtoit" job.

I know some people have reported "fixing" the siren with a new battery. But my experience is different.
I've cut open 5 siren modules on various cars. On every one the circuit was well beyond saving. Even the S60 that wasn't showing the Alarm Service message at all. So be prepared for the worst!

From experience, weird siren behaviour and false alarms can definitely pre-date an Alarm Service Required dash warning.
Luckily, catching it early often means that the siren board is still serviceable and a battery only is required. There's no harm in double checking simple things like door, bonnet and boot closures first though as well as considering triggers made by radio interference from devices in or close to the car and even outside sources. Some people have experienced false triggers when parked in specific locations only.

Everything seems to be ok, when I lock it the indicators flash and all the doors are closed.
Will probably remove the siren and investigate a bit further
