Looks to be fitted to S60, V70, XC70 and the XC90 of similar vintage.
I've tried to clean and refit but I've not had any luck. I've seen afew second hand parts priced from £130 - £160 which is currently above the price I'm willing to pay for this issue. |

hcm module location please help
I haven't had high beams for two 2 months now
I still have not been able to locate the HCM module Vida tells me the code HCM 3887 The fuses work fine, the bulbs are fine too. I have a volvo xc90 year 2010 This is vin of my vehicle: Please can you send me photos of where the module is located? Under the driver's seat there is a device connected but it does not look like the images published in the manuals so I have not touched it. I have even searched under the carpets and foams of the driver and passenger but I have not been able to find the aforementioned module, I keep looking, I hope you can help me. |

Make sure you get the correct part number like for like swap.
I know there are at least two different part numbers for what looks like the same unit. I think the later HCM is conformally coated on the board which is a CV lear resin covering to protect against water damage. UK fortunately you can't conformally coat connectors as there has to be a removable bond as the connector get connected and disconnected. So the only place the later conformally coated board will be damaged by water ingress is on the actual connector pins only but that can still be a problem. As I am having the same issue with water in the footwell. I had about 3 inches of water in there. There is a removable bung in the rear passenger foot well to drain it out. When I removed the bung in my car it looked like someone was emptying a full bath of water onto the road outside. Such a bad design of drain pipes and holes for the sunroof. |
