Do you want me to bring my gazebo again, just in case of hot wevver.
If I can find all the bits, and remember how it goes up!

A few questions about Uxbridge
I'm new to car shows - last weeks BKV was my first! Ive looked at the Uxbridge Show website but still have a few queries. Will our cars be scrutinized by judges on an individual basis in order to decide which is the best club display? Also, I noticed at the BKV that some owners had made up information boards and placed them in front of their cars. Does this help as far as judging goes and is there an accepted format / contents list for these? Finally as club entrants do we each receive a plaque the same as individual entrants?
Ian

Ian,
If the format is like last year, the cars are not judged at all. Its more a display to show our cars to a lot of other enthusiasts for all sorts of other makes as well. We just line our cars up on the Volvo plot, which ever way is decided the best to show them, and then the public wander through. We all get a little plaque, just to show we've been there, all the plaques are the same. Lots and lots of general public there, as the show also caters for a general 'family' day out. Side shows, lots of trade stands, lots of auto-jumble stands etc. The information sheet is a good idea, I'll be doing one for Hermione, and I'll probably laminate it so I can stick it under a wiper with the windows shut when I go for a walk round. If its HOT, then sunshade, hat and a decent sunscreen are essential, the site is very open and exposed, and last year got damn hot!!! I'm going to bring a biggish gazebo, its 6 sided, and about 12' across. Bring drinks, food etc (Lots on site, but can be expensive)

Thanks Alec
I will sort out an info sheet for the car - perhaps add a general info bit about 240's. Provided that the entrance fee isnt too high I will also bring my camp chairs so we can join you in the gazebo.....

Hi Ian, the club will pay the car/driver entrance for any club member showing their car on the club stand. It will be an early start - I'll confirm over the next few days. In the past we've all met 7.45/8ish as we need early entry to set the stand up and get the cars into place - the more chairs the merrier!

The Uxbridge auto show does have a judged concours section but most people just come for a good day out...
