  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

hello would anyone know how much it would cost for a cambelt to be renewed volvo s40 18 2005 cheers sln

1800 petrol? you don't have one , it is a chain ....

no , chain drives have been around for decades until somebody had the bright idea of cambelts in the early 70's , chains are not servicable , you would only change one if you had the engine stripped down for other purposes .

It is ironic how old well proved motor vehicle technology is now making a comeback in todays engines :
The chain is back , the relacable oil filter element is back , two big valves per cylinder heads are back , and daresay we will be back with single overhead camshafts soon as they take less energy to drive , cheaper to make , lighter etc , and with the current trend of small capacity powerful turbo petrol engines , we wont need twin cam heads .
