Never said it was unusual Roy, however I still believe what I said is true .... most UK XC90's will be running 18" wheels.

Nope

I'd guess even less 19" equipped XC90's than 17" ones .... and 19" is not showing on the Michelin website yet ... so maybe you shall need to wait .... how long ... anyone's guess.

Yes, I think most of the R-Design cars are on bigger wheels.

These are the sizes that are coming later.
4 additional dimensions will be launched in September 2016: 215/55 R18 99 V XL, 225/65 R17 106 V XL, 235/55 R19 105 W XL, 235/65 R17 108 W XL.

I chose Nexen Rodians on my previous two cars, BMW 530d and Audi TT Quattro, and have been majorly impressed. The price is excellent with performance too as an all round tyre. Most notable is the slow wear rate compared to Continentals and Pirelies that BMW and Audi use as their OEM tyre respectively. I don't normally advocate cutting down on tyre, safety is paramount and there are some brands to stay away from- Full Run, Sunny and Wanli etc, but Nexen tyres are very good imho.

I was having a new back tyre fitted to the bike today (£160 - Gulp) and I asked the guy (casually like) for a recommendation for the car.

He said that for the price (from him - £93 each fitted inc VAT) the 255/50 R19 107V Nexen Rodian XL was hard to beat.

Since we go to Spain for the winter (end Sept to early April) I don't need any special winter or all season tyres - I think I'll give them a go.

Has anyone got any views on the noise levels as I see they are rated at 75dB?

Cheers

Dave

75's at the noisy end of the spectrum, bearing in mind that dB scale isn't linear.

Sounds like they will get the full range of sizes then in time.

Default A set of Nokian SUV3s run off

So, have run a set of Nokian SUV3s over the winter and after 17K are now being changed.
When new they were not a sure footed as I like and it felt like driving on jelly! And brisk cornering brought forth howls of rubber. Great in the wet, even when over half worn. In mud and driving up field ends no problems. No white stuff down here so dont know what they were like in it.
Gone back to Pirelli Scorpion Zeros.

Mmmm, only 17k ... was that due to mis-alignment wear or genuinely worn out?

I'm just about to change my WR G2 SUV's and they are at 48K, so big difference between the G2's and G3's wear wise!
