I tried to do it for my friends SC 805 Black Premium Sound and failed...The motherboards are different show however some similarities.

How can I find out which are the right positions for soldering?

Regards
Cristian

PS I added pics of the board

I overlapped the pics and the soldered wires from the (grey I presume) 805 of the TO seem to fit over 2 soldering points on the black SC 805.

Should I "go for it"? Or is the risk of damage to the radio high? It's a Premium Sound Unit which kind of "holds me back" as they are pretty rare to come by and also not quite cheap .

Regards
Cristian

Just a feedback from the atempt to hack the black SC 805:
1. The tape trick did not work as the unit tries to find the next song (I guess) and fast winds the tape for 10sec and than it spits it out

2. The connections on the mainboard were from the CD unit and as a result the CD music mixed with the IPhone music...

I must find out now a way to trick the 805 to stop ejecting the blank tape... and of course find the correct pins on which I must solder the wires..

Regards
Cristian

found same issue, interference when charging, may be needing some shielding of some sort

The interference problem may well be coming from the outside of the unit ....alternator etc...as has been said a whining noise.

The wire used for the hack must be of a proper screened nature right up to the capacitors otherwise the wire will act just like an ariel and attract electrical signals from nearby electrical parts or units.

My own hack does not come with any type of interference whatever i do.

Hi there!

The pics of the mod seem to be no longer in existence. I don't suppose you could put them back in for a couple of days so that I can mod my unit?

I'd be really grateful...

Boots.
