Default wiper problems and more :(

Hi Guys, long time no post.
Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, I have been having trouble with my front windscreen wipers!
One in about every 10 times that I flick the switch to activate them they don't work at all? It's totally random! The rear wipe works all the time.

Also I have noticed that the blower takes a while to come on sometimes or not at all, that seems to be just as random as the wipers? Could these problems be related?

I'm taking it to a friend tomorrow to look at, and just wondered if you had any ideas I can point him to?

I did the usual checked The fuses under the bonnet, but I didn't want to pull the fuse box out under the drivers side in case I couldn't get it back.

it's a 1999 V40 2.0L T

Thanks

From reading on here intermittant electrical faults can be due to a corroded wire in the main loom which runs under the radiator.

Just an update to this.
No problem found with the wiring loom under the radiator.
Goes back tomorrow to have the relays, resister checked/replaced.

I'll post the outcome, should it be handy for someone else having the same problems.
