Inside door handle

Can the inside door handle be replaced? The rubber padding is torn.

Yes it comes out separately, in fact you have to remove it to take the door card off.

When I removed my door cards last week, only the silver parts comes off. The grab part is part of the door card. The pre facelift might be different.

I was wondering how mine is different.

With mine, only the silver trim came off to reveal two screws inside.

I think you are correct, there may a design change somewhere along the production run.

With yours did it leave the upper/inner part of the grab handle in then ie the rubber looking part in you photo? Mines all silver and if you don't put it back correctly it comes off in your hand when closing the door.

Most UK models have an all-silver interior door pull, rubber covered ones are rare. However here is a useful modification which fits all types and looks classy!

The whole silver section is one part, pre facelift is identical apart from its solid plastic without the rubberised section.

I picked a replacement pre facelift handle for about £15 on ebay.

it pops out, just remove it and read the part number off the back and type in on tinternet. ebay breaker will most likely have what you want.

Thanks everyone. After looking around, it appears the rubber covered version is not that common. I think it may a 2008 and up new design. Unfortunately the breakers here don't have any XC90 later than 2006, so it's all the pre facelift silver version.

I've tried my usual volvo parts guy and he says not worth getting a new one and suggested I cover it up with some leather.

I've come across that ebay seller cassel posted. Have anyone used these? IPD USA also has a similar product.

A new interior grab handle searching the web is around US60 (exc shipping)

How about wrapping them ?

I think the handle is held by 2 screws from the back of the door card.
The wrap only costs a few pounds and you can easily remove if it doesn't look good.

I must admit I don't like the aftermarket leather covers. They look like the leather seat covers you can buy to hide your cloth seats.

Pardon me but wrap the handle with what? Sounds like I should know but living at the other side of the world TBH I don't have a clue.
