Hi Folks,

Thinking of moving on my Amazon.....My wife won't drive it and there are times when a second car, more acceptable, (to her !), car is needed.....

Ideal for someone wishing to get into the delights of Amazon motoring

Its a '66 122s, 4 door, red.

I've run it dailly for the past 2 years never let me down. Has taken me all over the country including some 500+ mile runs there and back in the same day. Always starts first time, even on the coldest days.

Temp gauge works, sits just at halfway mark as it should
Oil light goes off instantly
fuel guage works

Accurate description would be "well used"...

Bodywise, it needs the rear arches done and one inner wing, there is some bubbling on other panels

Had new tyres all round last year, all new rubber bushes and 4 new suspension arms on the back end this year....MOT'd till May, .
Screen has a leak, brand (new rubber supplied),
Top drivers door hinge worn, (replacement supplied).
Rear arch could do with repair, (section supplied),
Engine mounts soggy, (new ones supplied).
Inertia reel belts back and front.
Both front seats resprung......
Interior redone in Tan vinyl, very well done
Diff whines a bit on ovverrun
Radiator rebuilt, new stat and hoses
Horn assembly all rebuilt with correct components

Bumpers, OKish, not super shiney and some pitting, one quarter at front could do with renewing

SWEM Pushbutton start

Floors and A panels sound.

Box of spares, brake shoes, new flexis, spare calipers, instrument panel, SS silencer, Unique Volvo hub puller, spare carbs and distributor etc. factory manual and haynes.

I also have an overdrive box and the very rare, correct switch/ OD badging and short prop, included in the deal

Interesting (?) plate

Spare engine, believed good

Some pics from last summer......

I'll take current pics later today .

If you need pics of anything, let me know and I'll post them here.

Its a noisy, rattley, and very honest car.

Runs well and is a lot of fun to drive! Nothing better than sitting behind that great big steering wheel, window down..Its great watching the reactions of folks on the motorway as I overtake and pull away from them at 70+ in my 43 year old car, free tax and buttons for the fully comp insurance...

As I said, it could do with some TLC, don't come looking for a concours car, if it was then I'd be looking for a lot more money !

I'm gonna be sad....

Car is near Glasgow, I'm looking for 1200 or pretty near offer.....

Viewing most welcome

Shed a tear today as my old Volvo headed off to Aberdeen with its new owner......Not the ideal conditions for getting to know your new car, blizzard blowing and an inch of lying snow !!!!

Default Thanks

I'm now the proud owner of an Amazon!

Big thanks to Gerry, couldn't have wished for a nicer / more helpful person to buy a car from.

Made it all the way to Aberdeen with no problems (although I did have to drive at 30 along the motorway for a fair bit because of the snow).

Managed not to stall it at all until I pulled in to the street I was parking it on.
For some reason I just couldnt find 2nd when changing down. And I'm yet to attempt the tricky reverse gear again.

Will probably be posting lots of messages on the forum as I try to figure out how to work on an old car.

Cheers,

Dave
