The Exxon Valdez has a stainless steel cat-back system from the people who advertise in the Volvo "Driver" mag; it's been on for at least 6 years now.
I had a factory system fitted to my 240GLT as it was only marginally more expensive than a Slo-fit system and came with a 3-year guarantee as opposed to a 1-year one, so it might be worth speaking to your local main dealer...

Just had a JT Tuning 3" system fitted.
£382 1 muffler no cat system + £98 magnaflow 59959 universal cat + £20 stainless pipe + £24 narrow band clamps 3x + £100 fitting = £624. The downpipe needs to be massaged a bit to stop it hitting the steering shaft, other than that it fits pretty good. There's around 10-15mm clearance on that rear crossmember, no knocks or bangs. They do cat-back systems with adapters for the stock cat too.

Nice one for the link didn't realise anyone made systems for them. 3" turbo back system would be nice.
Here's a photo of the Klarius one vs the Walker one I've removed. It starts at 57mm, the chassis flat is 34mm (way smaller than original) and the whole tube spends it's life about 45mm due to the bends. |
