Default Radar Blocked following accident

Hi all,

So I was involved in a sandwich accident where somebody rear ended me causing me to go into the vehicle in front. Fast forward a month and my car comes back from the garage. I hand back the brand new S90 I had, and took my S60 back only to find on my first journey to work this message starts appearing (it's a bright clear day) , as well as the system seemingly very badly calibrated (when it decided it wasn't blocked), and would start to auto brake when overtaking lorries on the motorway because it thought they were in front of me! Anyway, the garage have now had it back nearly a week and claim the fault is with the little plastic radar cover.

I'm sceptical, and my question is could that really be the cause of the problem?

Thanks for reading!

I am surprised the entire unit was not replaced, the tolerances in the radar bit are fractions of an mm. Inside it looks like plumbing the business end being cavity joined to a short piece of waveguide then to the antenna at the front. After the collision, if any of these pieces are slightly distorted or misaligned by fractions of an mm its bad news.
Perhaps the front plastic cover is the antenna section and its not mating properly with the rest of the unit. Its module maintenance, swap bits out until it works properly.

It doesn't matter which bit is faulty, surely the repairer should have replaced all parts damaged in the accident?
