Suspension problem.
Today I drove the car up the drive and stopped to load the dogs. No issues. When then I drove off, a clunking noise was suddenly apparent. I drove a very short distance, turned and came back home. The noise was very noticeable when turning. At first I thought wheel bearing but the offside front wheel has reduced clearance between the wheel arch and the tyre and there is no bounce when I press down on the front wing. The steering seems fine. I haven't been able to look behind the wheel to examine it. I'll need to wait till Monday to have it attended to but would like to have some idea of the probable fault before calling out Volvo Assist as I don't think it's safe to drive to the garage.
Does this suggest a broken spring or what else might it be? Thanks.

Just get Assist out, let them diagnose it. Don’t they give you a hire car while it’s away?
