Default Anyone with a space saver? XC60

Hi

Maybe a bit of a long shot but I thought it ask here.

My 2018 XC has got a screw in the edge of the tyre. So the usual high street tyre places won’t touch it.

However there’s a place relatively nearby who can do a hot vulcanising repair, rather than replace a new tyre.

However as my driveway is on a slant, I cannot safety jack the car up for a couple of days whilst they repair my tyre. I have use of another car in the meantime.

I was wondering if anyone had a spare I could sit on my car for a few days, it won’t be moved whilst it’s fitted.

I’m in Lancashire but travel around the North’s West frequently.

Thanks

Did you know that repairs to damage in any tyre shoulder or sidewall are not permitted and it’s for good reason.
If you value the safety of yourself and family I would strongly suggest you replace the tyre.

I wouldn't trust a smart plug from a national outfit, especailly as it's close to the sidewall.

However, vulcanised repairs are fine.

Just annoying that Volvo haven't supplied a spare.

I would not repair it, for the sake of a new tyre, and if its a Contisilent tyre it may not be suitable for vulcanising as they have foam inserts glued to the inside.

Yes you're probably right. After another look this morning, the screw is on the outer shoulder, much closer to tne edge than I thought. Don't want to chance anything as we have some long trips planned, so another Michelin has been ordered.

Thanks

Have you thought about adding a space saver wheel to your order.
