I now have the complete roof lining down and half the car in bits.
I cannot find the RRX module any where or the wire colours within the looms within the roof lining.
Strange I have found the RKE module with the correct wires connected but i do not have that feature? Could this be used instead and then i can call off the search for the RRX Module.
Please any help appreciated in finding this module, according to the diagrams i can find its either beside the rear view mirror or beside the RKE module at the back??

Just the MMS to find then hopefully that is everything disconnected (once i find the RRX ) module.

For information the dealer in Aberdeen called tonight after 2 days trying and i have a booking for next Wednesday. As the car is off the road anything i can do to get things moving would be appreciated.

What diagrams are you working with? I have the full Volvo wiring manual for 2014 and for 2015 XC60. They both show the RRX and RKE modules in the roof, in the same place.

Also in VIDA, the Remove and Replace procedure for both the RRX and RKE modules is pretty much identical (i.e. in exactly the same location) for my car which I think is same as yours - early 2015.

I don't have experience in that area, but I would guess that you should have either RRX or RKE, not both? VIDA Parts diagrams also suggest that.

How are you identifying the module you have found? Does it have a name on it or a part number to cross reference?

Going by wire colours and part numbers its RKE. I now have the full headlining down and definitely no RRX module that i can see.
The drawings i am using say 2014-15.

I have hopefully found my problem the supply to the MMS has chaffed against the chassis in the transmission tunnel. Im running a clean supply at the moment from the fuse box as the cable had got warm?

The finish on the steel is poor with a very ragged edge

Hopefully once replaced the components are ok.

Good news, well done.

I hope it's the answer. You've put a lot of effort in so deserve it.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Car now repaired and fully functioning with a new clean supply replacing the damaged wire .
I have to say the repair is a little bitter sweet as the wire/ supply was doing nothing. It was for the MMS sensor however mine does not have one fitted. it was just terminated into a blank plug in the cubby box. So i could have saved myself a lot of work and just snipped it at the fuse box.

It looks like from what i can see my model is wired for every conceivable option and its just the last stage / item that is or is not fitted then i suppose coded by the dealer.

Thanks again.
