Default Volvo V50 1.6D Drive 2010 Replacement Engine

Engine code: D4164T. If anyone can help that would be great as info on the internet not very clear. Anyone know if this engine was also put in a Ford or Peugeot? Just need a bare engine can take all the anciliaries from the old one (Big ends gone). Keep on seeing it mentioned (and a guy at a scrap yard said) that the same engine was used in other cars but the engine code seems different. Or could I use the bottom end from a ford or peugeot. Seems to be a big difference in price if its badged up Volvo D4164T. Just didn't want to get to the stage of connecting up an engine and find that there's something missing...?

i advised Cameron on this previously - he started a long thread on this somewhere.
eventually, he fitted a engine from a puegeot, though out of a ford will do.
the engine codes are all different, but in essence, if you get an engine from a similar age car, with the same EGR layout, youll be fine.
dig the post out from Cameron and have a read.
